Hi everyone! Life has been happening at such a fast pace recently, but we wanted to give an update before the baby arrives and things get even more chaotic. First off: we've moved! We braved the Seattle housing market and amazingly found a house that will be just great for us and is very close to where we were renting before. So, we've been frantically unpacking and preparing for babe's arrival and trying to get as settled as we can (oh, and doing just a tiny bit of remodeling - see below).
In the past few months, we've had trips to the zoo and aquarium, a great visit with Auntie Claire and cousin Ty, Easter egg hunting and general spring-time fun. Melina continues to amaze us with her words and imagination! She is often regaling us with the adventures of "Kitty", her best stuffed animal/imaginary friend. This morning she told me about how she Kitty were going to get married and that Kitty has a baby in her belly. Her favorite part about the new house appears to be that she can run around naked in the yard on a regular basis.
At the zoo on the carousel
Bubbles on our old balcony - such a good apartment! We were there for 5+ years, so many good memories.
Dyeing Easter eggs!
A chocolate bunny!
And fruity mentos? The easter bunny was feeling rather ill-prepared and came across mentos from a very long time ago in our cupboard.
At least the chocolate was a hit!
Special flowers from Papa - note Kitty getting to enjoy them as well.
All ready for egg hunting.
Cousin Ty's visit!
On the bus....
... and ferry!
Auntie Claire and cousin Ty.
There was some sadness on the ferry.
But luckily it didn't last long.
At the Tiny Tots program at the Seattle Symphony!
Naked kiddo running around our new yard!
Dinner on our new patio.
Misha exploring the yard. She is still mostly an indoor kitty... with the occasional brief adventure.
Clothesline!
Melina loves tossing the frisbee!
Look at that catch!! Okay just kidding - that was her throw.
Her first baseball game! It was a 6pm game and amazingly we made it all the way through the 7th inning stretch, then took the bus home.
Melina loved waving at the crowd camera.
She was also very excited to meet the Mariner's Moose.
Reading Patrick O'Brian in our bed.
First corn on the cob of the season.
Our remodel - removing the wall between the kitchen and living room - here it is with the wall...
....and without!
From the other side - with...
.. and without.
At the aquarium with Melissa!
She is getting so big. Heart squeeze.
I stumbled across the term "three-nager" on the interwebs the other day... :-)
But mostly, she's a pretty happy kiddo.
New house, from the front!
Hard to believe we'll have a baby soon and this kiddo will be a big sister!
