Can it really be that our baby has turned one???? This year has flown by! It's been an amazing year.

We love you, sweet Melina! Here are some of things you are doing right now:
- You growl! When you are happy or excited. Sometimes it sounds like a roar.
- You sign! When you want to nurse, when you want more and when you are all done. Sometimes these apply to foods but also to things like swinging, playing and reading books. The other day you signed "all done" when I came in to get you after a nap.
- You also use words! Your first word other than mama and dada was "water"(waaaaeeerrrr). Now it sounds more like "wadlalala."
- You really love water. We have to hide it while you are eating so wanting to drink it doesn't distract you. You also say "Hi", "Baby", "kitty", "ball", "dog", "cheese" (which sounds a lot like kitty)..
- Your favorite thing to say right now is "wassat?" (what's that?) which you say all the time, pointing at things and people.
- You are a happy, busy baby. You love walking to and from various destinations around a given room, usually carrying one or more items in each hand.
- You sometimes get really determined to explore the parts of your world we have tried to block off.
