We made it!

I can hardly believe it, but we have officially survived the past six weeks! Melina has gained a bunch of weight, gives me big smiles, rolls from her stomach to her back, is increasingly curious about the world around her - and I think she is saving her first laugh for her dad's return!

It's been somewhat more eventful than most chunks of six weeks in our life. In this time:
  • Our bank account was hacked into
  • Our internet line was clipped by accident
  • The car died (it needed an alternator)
  • We had one planned trip to the hospital and one trip to the ER
  • We discovered Melina is allergic to something I am eating
Thank you so much to you who brought us, made us, or sent us food, came over to keep me company, do my dishes, fold my laundry and/or hold Melina while I showered. Thank you a million times over. We could not have made it through without you.

Now for some pictures (I'll spare you the diaper series that helped diagnose the allergy).
We've been having a wonderful visit with Pete and Melissa, Melina's god-parents.
Melissa and Melina

Beautiful amazing quilt made by the ladies and gentlemen of Santa Cruz. Melina LOVES this quilt!  Such a patchwork of love.
We had a visit from Mark, Mary Margaret and Alexis, who gave Melina a sweet rocking horse and her first riding lesson!

Big smiles!!

Oh my, Tish, she is beautiful! What a great smile! I remember our first big trip with Griff, what should have been 4-5 hours took 8+ hours. And it was around that time I started to get the sense that he was allergic to something I was eating. I went though the elimination diet twice and we eventually had him tested at about 8 months because it was just so tough to figure out. Most of those first allergies have fallen away, now just tree nuts are an allergen for him. I hope it is an easy one for you guys to figure out and she outgrows it quickly!

I loved seeing this post! What a cute girl you have there, and I'm happy to see at least one square of mine from previous days made it into the blanket!
