The summer is flying by, and Melina is running right along with it! Her latest words are "Hup!" (help) which she says when she needs help doing something or is stuck somewhere, "mow!" (what the kitty says), as well as "Hi!" and "Bye!", often unsolicited. She is a social butterfly when we are out in public, waving and saying Hi or Bye to anyone we are near. This is incredibly cute and most people are game to engage with her.
Wearing Dad's funny hat
This kiddo loves books! She brings them to us and signs "more"
Showing off her bottom teeth.
Learning to drive a boat at the Children's Museum
Sharing the helm with Josh!
Fascinated by the moped.
First drum circle
Fish!
Hanging out with Beck, Britt and Owen
Lucky baby and her godparents
Celebrating Auntie Hallie's Birthday with swimming and picnic
Preparing for our first time camping with her! Note: While this is the bigger of our two tents, the consensus after camping was that we, in fact need one that is much, much bigger. :-)
Stories with Auntie Hallie
Getting used to the pack
Running around camp
This hike was fun, and Melina did great, but it was pretty much straight up for many miles... so we turned around before we made it to the lake. Another note to selves for next camping trip: Pick a much easier hike
She spent a lot of time and energy trying to get her hat off
At the Seattle center
Ballard Seafood festival, trying out new sun shade on the pack.
But the best part of summer is tidepooling! The terrain was too rough and sharp for Melina to run around on but she loved getting to check everything out.
And thankfully there were good swinging opportunities nearby.
